First Family Vacation

We took our first vacation as a family of three this month. We went down to Florida to visit Grandpa Max. He was staying in a condo in Fort Myers for the month and invited family to come join him. Mark, Kelly and Wyatt were there at the same time so the cousins got to meet for the first time.

Alia was a great little traveler. We couldn't have asked for more. She pretty much just ate and slept on the airplane the whole way. Yeah for us! Cousin Wyatt was absolutely amazed by "Baby Alia" and obsessed with her little feet. But, he didn't quite understand why shy wouldn't play football or hold onto the toys that he was trying to hand to her. Too cute!

Alia got to see the ocean for the first time and try out a pretty cute little bathing suit that her Grammy gave her. Mommy and Daddy got to relax and enjoy some family time and SUNSHINE! We had a wonderful time. It was so hard to come home and see the cloud cover :-(

cute sundress and little hat ... LOVE it!

Chatterbox!

Alia is becoming quite the little chatterbox. (She comes by it honestly.) Her newest sound is this little gurggle thing. It is so adorable! We just can't get enough of it! Hopefully it comes through on this video so that you can enjoy it too!

The Incredible Sleepless Bean!

Playing!

After bath time

She was supposed to be sleeping, but how can you get mad at that face?

Alia's first time going to church.
She was a very good girl and stayed awake nearly the whole time!

Yeah! Alia now likes hanging out with mommy in the Baby Bjorn!

Well, things have been interesting around here. Alia's nickname has been modified from "jellybean" to "The Incredible Sleepless Bean". Jason and I are pretty sure that she is the only baby in the history of the world that does not require sleep :-) OK, that might be a slight exaggeration, but there is a lot of sleep deprivation going on around here and that's how it feels. We are working hard to get in regular nap times, which is not too difficult thanks to the swing, but Alia doesn't like sleeping at night. She just doesn't want to miss anything interesting.

Alia is almost 12 weeks old now. Time is really flying by. She is changing a little bit every day and doing some ridiculously cute things. A friend from work told me the other day, "It's a good thing they are so cute. It's the only defense they have!" SO TRUE! Alia is figuring out that her hands and feet are attached to her body and that she can control them. She is splashing during bath time and kicking her feet like crazy when she is playing. She has also started doing this really funny thing with her hands where it looks like she's thinking "put up your dukes". It's hilarious.

Alia in her crib

Here is a cute little clip that Jason took of Alia playing and watching the mobile in her crib. She is changing so much each day! It is so fun to watch her discover new things!
