Air Show

This morning our family went to the Hillsboro Air Show. For those of you that don't know, we live right next to the airport and can usually see and hear parts of the air show going on, but we've never been. So, today we decided to go check it out. Alia enjoyed the big trucks that she saw just as much, if not more, than the airplanes. The highlight was that we ran into our friends Jamie, Andy and Carson and got to watch the show with them.

Alia and Daddy looking at one of the "big trucks".

Daddy let Alia sit on his shoulders so that she could get a better look at one of the planes. She was pretty excited that she got to touch one.

Mommy and Alia posing for a picture. Alia got this little necklace from the Lego area that they had set up for kids and was SO proud of it!

Hanging out in her stroller, with Daddy's sunglasses on watching the air show. She liked the planes, but wasn't a big fan of the loud jets.

Baby Brother's Room

Here are a few quick pics of baby brother's room. There is a blank spot above his crib where his name will go as soon as we decide what it is! Other than that, his room is pretty much ready to go. We just have a few other little things to accomplish before I can say that I feel ready for him to be here. Trying hard to wait until August 31 (37 weeks) before I start getting too anxious, but I am getting pretty darn uncomfortable and the thought of putting my body back the way it was sounds awfully nice!

Walking on the Beach

Here is a short little video of Alia and Daddy walking on the beach.

Beach Weekend

This weekend, we made our last trip together as the family of 3. We went to Lincoln City for the weekend. It was a long drive on Friday evening, but we made it there eventually. It seemed like the entire state was headed in the same direction to try to avoid the heat. Alia was a little nervous about the hotel situation. It's been a while since we've been in one and as soon as we got there she said "bye bye hotel". She got over it pretty quickly but had a hard time sleeping that night. At one point she sang us quite the rendition of Old MacDonald Had a Farm. It was actually very cute and very impressive, despite being at 3:00am!!

On Saturday, we had the perfect day of family fun! We went swimming in the hotel pool, went shopping, had a good nap, went to the beach and then went out to dinner. We couldn't have made it any more perfect if we tried. Alia enjoyed the beach and the ocean tremendously, although she wasn't such a big fan of getting dirty or wet ... such a girl! She did eventually warm up to walking in the sand ... until a wave came and got her and got her pants all wet.

watching the crazy big kids play in the water ... it was insanely cold!
touching the sand

We finally talked her into posing with Mommy for a picture. If you can't tell she is saying "cheese" with some serious enthusiasm!

Random Fun

We finally got Alia to put on her sunglasses the other day. We kept saying "Oh, you look like a movie star!" Now she puts them on (and ours) and says "movie star" every time. She's still not a fan of actually wearing them outside though.

Alia loves helping Mommy fold laundry. She loves to stand on top of Daddy's tee-shirts while I fold and to try on Daddy's socks.

She is also really into just putting on and taking off clothes. It doesn't seem to matter whose they are. After my shower, Alia enjoyed trying on some of baby brother's new pants.

Baby Shower

Last weekend my great friends Jamie and Maggie threw me a baby shower. It was amazing! As one friend put it, my friend Jamie is the Martha Stewart of party planning. I have many more pictures, but everything you see here was hand made by her! We had drinks (well, not me of course) and a dessert buffet and just hung out. The cupcakes were home made by Maggie and AMAZING! I got lots of great things that I needed for baby brother. He officially will not have to wear any of his sisters pink bibs :-)

Jamie made me one little invitation to keep for my baby book since we just did an evite for the party.

Chocolate covered marshmallows were just one of the treats in additional to chocolate covered pretzels, malt balls, taffy and rock candy.

Diaper cake with great new towels for baby boy.

cupcakes by Maggie and decorations by Jamie ... nice team work, huh!
