Stop and Smell the Roses

For those of you that don't live in Portland, let me fill you in ... The weather here has been cold, rainy and yucky forever! The entire city is going stir crazy! On Sunday, we decided that since it wasn't raining it was nice enough to get out and try to get some fresh air. So, we went for a walk around the Rose Gardens in Washington Park and then went to the zoo and saw Alia's favorite animals and had lunch. Here are a few photos from our weekend.

Date Night!

Last weekend, Jason and I had our first night away from Alia together EVER. Alia had a slumber party with her best friend Carson! Jason and I went downtown, shopped, watched a movie, went out to dinner and went to see the Cirque Du Soliel show Kooza (which was amazing). We even stayed downtown to make it feel like a little mini-vacation. We woke up to no alarm or chatty baby in the morning. It was so peaceful and so weird! We figured we better try to get in a night now while we still have the chance. A night away is going to get much more complicated in about 16 weeks!!

Counting Update & Dancing

Here is a short video clip of Alia counting to 10 again, but this time we didn't forget any numbers! There is also a little blurb of Alia dancing to "If You're Happy and You Know It". As you can tell I was running the video camera and dancing at the same time, so its a little bouncy ... sorry! Enjoy!

Counting

Yesterday Alia and I were coloring and I started counting the crayons as we were putting them away. To my SURPRISE she started counting along with me. I had no idea that she could do that. Here is a video clip that we took of Alia counting when Jason got home that night. Please note the crazy hair, the chubby thighs and the lack of the number 8. We can not get her to say it. She won't even repeat it after we've said it. Silly little bean!

Here are some picture of Alia taken at Gymboree on April 19th. We think they turned out pretty well. Even her little serious and apprehensive faces look adorable (if you ask me)!

Today we went for a walk and decided to stop at a park to let Alia run around and burn off some energy. Daddy and Alia played "hide" and Mommy took a little rest and took pictures and video.
