Family Band

This is a long video clip, but it has a little bit of everything in it ... singing, interpretive dance, guitar, drums, hamming it up for the camera, minor little brother fit ... you name it! Enjoy!

Swim Lessons

I remembered to take the camera with us to swim class today to catch a few pics of the kids hard at work. Max takes class with Daddy and Alia is in "Catfish 1". Max absolutely LOVES swim class. He kicks, moves his arms around and sticks his face in the water. It's actually quite impressive, if I do say so! Alia is not so sure about it. She likes to be in the shallow end with her feet firmly planted on the bottom. She also really likes holding on to the side of the pool and pretending it's a ballet barre and practicing her dance moves :-) A chip right off the ol' block!

Max's New Skill

Fortunately or not, Max is learning how to undress himself. He thinks its wildly funny and frankly I do too. That kid just cracks me up!

Gymboree

I have taken the kids to a couple of family Gymboree classes lately. Max normally attends on Thursday when Alia is at school, but we've had some make up classes to do and not a lot of options to work with. I was nervous at first, but the kids do great in there. They play together and have tons of fun. It's pretty hard for me to get pictures or video and manage both kids at the same time, but I managed to capture a little bubble action for you!

Dress-Up Is Fun for Everyone!

I realize Max will kill me for this one day, but oh well. It's one of my many important duties as a mom, to totally embarrass my kids. I would like to note that Max brought me this dress and was clearly asking for assistance in putting it on. It only lasted just long enough for me to take these pictures, but that was just long enough :-)

Valentine's Day

We had a busy Valentine's Day, with a party at Alia's school and then I had to teach that night. The following day we did special heart shaped pancakes for breakfast and made a special dinner at home. I decorated the table a bit and we did a few art projects, but nothing too fancy. Alia's favorite part of the whole thing was the bag of valentine's and treats that she got at school. She has examined it about 100 times now and could probably list off its entire contents!

A picture of Alia's "valentines" that she passed out at school. (Idea and cute little tag courtesy of Jamie Pulver ... of course.)

Alia and her favorite little party crasher at her school party!

On party days, all of the students in her class are invited even if they don't normally attend on that day, so lunch is quite a site!

Michigan Trip - Video

Here are a few videos taken on my phone from the trip to Michigan. As you can tell, several of them are messages that we sent to Jason, but I thought I would include them. Enjoy!

Trip to Michigan

The kids and I made a trip back to Michigan for a few days to see Great Granny and Grandpa Lloyd. I haven't been back for almost two years now and they hadn't even met Max yet. We stayed at my mom's house and made a couple of trips up to Flint. We had to give Granny and Lloyd some time in between our visits to recover. We also did some playing at Castaway Cafe, I did some shopping for the kids at the outlet mall, we visited with GG Becky, Bonnie and Aunt Donna, we visited my old dance studio and saw some friends that I haven't seen in about a decade, Alia got to have ice cream for lunch one day and I got to have my fill of Gus's breadsticks. Traveling with both kids by myself was tough ... I won't lie about that, but overall we had a really great trip. I'm so glad that we did it!

Grammy (my mom) doesn't have a bath tub in her apartment, just a stand up shower, so we had to give both kids baths in the sink. I wish I would have taken some pictures of Alia in there because that was pretty funny! They both absolutely loved it!

Alia and Grandpa Lloyd ... She sure loved him!

The number one favorite activity at Grammy's house was chasing and playing with her cat, Jane. Jane was a very good sport about it all! She had a few choice words for Max a time or two, but pretty much let them chase her and pet her and hug her.

Grammy had some really fun, giant stuffed animals to play with.

I love this picture!
