Max - 18 Months

Max just had his 18 month check up this morning. We were just a little late because of our vacation. Max is healthy and happy and growing just as he should be. He is just about a 1/2 pound lighter and a 1/2 inch shorter than Alia was at this age.

26 pounds, 14.5 ounces, 34.5 inches

If you haven't seen Max or been around him recently, let me just tell you that he is a riot! He goes 100 miles and hour all the time. He knows exactly what he wants and when we wants it and doesn't give up (I'm sure I'm going to admire this quality in him when he's older :-). He's very physical and very active. He loves climbing, running, trying to jump and generally doing anything that the "big kids" are doing. He's also very sweet and caring. He gives great hugs and kisses! He loves playing with blocks, balls, cars, trucks and doing whatever Alia is doing like having tea parties, playing dress up and taking care of baby dolls. He absolutely loves his big sister and really misses her when she is at school.

He's really working hard on his language skills right now. He has lots of "words" that only Mommy and Daddy can understand and a handful of words that can be identified by the general public like no, more, hi, bye, up, yeah, night-night, momma, dad and probably some others that I am forgetting. He points to everything right now and wants to know the name of it. His interest in language and his effort to talk have both really increased in just the last few weeks.

Max still sleeps with his Lovey and I have a feeling that Lovey might be with us forever. He is Max's closest friend :-) It is amazing how much his sleep has changed since he was a little dude. He is just about the easiest kid to put to bed now ... just get him cozy, make sure his tummy is full and Lovey is in hand and that's about all it takes. He sleeps all night long and takes one nap in the middle of the day.

He's still a picky little eater, although that has gotten a little better too. I still have yet to get him to eat anything green! His favorite foods are bananas, berries, pasta, bread, cheese and MILK! I can't wait to take him berry picking this summer. He is going to love it!
